The main responsibilities of Medical Interns are to:

• Fulfill assigned health-care related tasks and duties in whichever branch of medicine the intern is currently receiving training in. (Neurology, Psychiatry, Obstetrics and Gynecology, General Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Public Health, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics)
• Attend educational and academic events such as seminars, journal clubs, case presentations, councils etc. and successfully complete any events they partake in.
• Assume responsibility of patients during clinical internships, and provide care for these patients during diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment under the supervision of the attending educator. Present these cases to the attending physicians during rounds.
• Administer care in the outpatient clinics of relevant branches under the supervision of the attending physician; take patient history, do physical exams, order diagnostic tests, and administer treatment as indicated.
• Administer care in the wards during day and night shifts under the supervision of the attending physician; order diagnostic tests, ask for consultations, and administer treatment as needed.
• Know and act in accordance with international patient safety goals, and always maintain patient privacy.
• Work diligently for the continuation healthcare within the hospital, and be productive members of healthcare teams.
